Headteacher's Welcome

On behalf of Governors, Staff and children I would like to offer you a warm welcome to St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School and to our school website.

My name is Mrs Corbett and I am proud to be the Headteacher of this wonderful school.

Our school is staffed by a dedicated team of talented and caring professionals who give their best to all of our children.

St Joseph’s is a happy, nurturing school where every child is respected, valued and loved. Our children benefit from a broad and stimulating curriculum within a rich, supportive environment where staff look to celebrate the skills and attributes of all of our children. Within our school the children experience a wide range of academic, musical, artistic, sporting and community activities.

Our school Mission Statement of ‘to inspire, to learn, to love with God’ is central to our school and our mission is lived out daily, permeating everything that happens in our school.

At St Joseph’s Primary School our aim is for our children to be happy and enthusiastic learners who are eager to do their very best in order to achieve their God given potential. We provide engaging and relevant learning experiences, ensuring our children aspire to a successful future, built on academic foundations and a thirst for learning.

Every child is recognised as a unique individual at St Joseph’s and we celebrate and welcome differences within our school community. We believe that childhood should be a happy, investigative and enquiring time where there are no limits to curiosity and there is a thirst for new experiences and knowledge. It is our intent for our pupils to leave our school with a sense of pride and belonging having being part of a caring and loving family community. We want our children to leave with happy memories and a love of learning.

Our strong links with our Parish community of Our Lady of Lourdes enhance and support the faith development of all in our community.

We value the support of parents and families and recognise the positive impact their contribution makes to their child’s education. We place no limits on what a child can achieve and seek to work in partnership with our parents so that every child experiences success and works to the best of their ability.

We are very proud of our school and the work we do here to raise all of our pupils' achievement and to ensure that all our learners make the very best possible progress.
